Kalimba Maya

Subtitled "Five Tiny Pieces for a Tiny Instrument," the collection is basically just an experiment writing something mildly amusing for the kalimba, an instrument about which I know little. The title betrays how nonserious the work is, being a play on the 12th-century troubadore song “Kalenda Maya” by Raimbaut de Vaqueiras (a motif of which is included in the single piece by that name in the collection). The sound files below — most of which are less than a minute in length — are the Sibelius playback, piano being used since the audio sound bank does not include the kalimba.
