Scherzo for Violin & Piano

Before listening to this work it will help to remember that “scherzo” is Italian for “joke.” A whimsical little piece (a real tour de farce), it tries to depict a little girl playing with her favorite doll and gives vent to all manner of childish flights of fancy. This piece was written for and dedicated to Lynne Ludeke, concertmaster of the Glendale Community College Orchestra in Los Angeles. (The sheet music for this work is available from Wolfhead Music. The score may be viewed at the American Music Center website. Note that the Scorch plug-in is required for viewing the scores.)
