My Ancestry Page

Although my Aunt Dorothy was the unofficial genealogist in our family (she had an entire basement full of documents), when she died all her notes disappeared. We hope they were passed along to some other relative, but at this point we aren’t exactly sure what became of them.

Because my husband has spent decades researching his own family’s genealogy, people began giving him information on my ancestry a number of years ago. Recently he finally began trying to organize his files so that we can have a better understanding of my family history. This page still has a lot of work left to be done (my husband says genealogy work is never finished), but he has put a lot of his own research online here at this site. If you could help fill in any missing information, or help correct anything that’s in error, please contact him and let him know.

Here is what we have online so far:

My Ancestor Charts
Family Group Sheets
Photographs

Although it may not look like much, there actually is a wealth of material here. While my paternal line can only be traced back to the mid-19th century, my husband has traced other lines back to well into the 17th century. It would appear that most of my ancestors arrived on these shores from England, Germany, Wales, or Scotland. I also have quite a number of early ancestors who were Quakers, which is one reason some of these lines can be traced back so far (Quakers traditionally kept meticulous records).

I know that looking at someone else’s ancestry can be rather boring, but I hope you find this part of my page interesting from the historical perspective. I believe it always helps to know who we are and where we came from. All our ancestors contributed to making us who we are today.
