Edward Craton
Edward Craton appears to have been our immigrant ancestor
who arrived in America around 1730 with a brother named John.
He was probably born ca. 1710 or possibly earlier. He
appears to have married Mary Mauldin (about whom nothing more
is known), and was the father of William Thomas Craton and
grandfather of Thomas Howell Craton. Various records indicate
that Edward came either from Scotland or England, though the
exact determination of his homeland has not been ascertained.
Our present research objective is to try to discover on what
ship he arrived. When this is learned, his exact port of
embarkation should be correctly detemined. This would allow
us to begin searches for his parentage in the home country.
If you have any information about Edward or John (even
if nothing more than family traditions), please write to me
at
